Penny Pincher Barter & Trade was founded in 1991 by Roger and Jenni Tombleson as a classified free advertising publication. Today, pennypincher.co.nz and Doubtless Bay Times / Penny Pincher Barter & Trade, combined as a newspaper, are a valued advertising source connecting a wide variety of buyers and sellers in Northland, New Zealand.
The newspaper is unique in the North of New Zealand as it has the only web offset presses in the whole of Northland, enabling it to be printed, typeset and designed locally. All other papers in Northland are printed in Auckland.
Now this website follows the tradition, as it too has been designed and produced locally by Martin Wale of Redan Online Design situated in Doubtless Bay.
